I personally love this game, scarce resources and an eerie atmosphere keep you on edge, the sound effects do the same, I have no issues with the save feature except that it doesn't automatically save found keys needed to open boxes at the hospital/asylum area.
Anyone who thinks this is an action game is really making out the game to be something it's not, are there action sequences, tes, but is the whole game based around them, no. Mostly the game is about using your brain, taking risks, and in many cases, being smart enough in certain situations not to take that risk.
Bosses can be frustrating, but I don't think cheaply so, if you know how to kill certain enemies you will find the game much easier, using your environment or matches to take out multiple enemies should be one of your top priorities if you plan on having enough ammo left over to kill the next boss you come across.
All in all I think it's a great game, and easily one of my favorite Survival Horror games in a long time, and with the game in full screen on PC after using the console command R_forceaspectratio, it's even better.
The visuals are a bit dated but the lighting is great and adds to the atmosphere, my only real issue is with the sometimes muddy textures.
