Simply not exciting in any way. Typical movie-based game made for children.

The Chronicles of Narnia is not a game that many people will want to play. It is geared towards children, and is simply not exciting. The story follows the movie and the book very well, but that's about all the game has going for it. Like most movie-based games, there is very little originality in this game. I know can be difficult when holding to a set story, but that is no excuse for making a boring game.

The gameplay is easy to learn, but can be difficult to execute at times, and when it is easy, it is annoyingly easy. It is also annoying that you are forced to switch between characters to collect little tokens that really don't do much of anything for you. I imagine this aspect of the game might actually be appealing to some younger gamers, but it just adds another boring task to perform if you are playing for the combat. There are various combo moves that you can do by joining two of the characters, but they are difficult to control, and it is just one more thing that becomes annoying any time it is required to progress through the game. Also, the AI isn't very good, and whichever characters you are not controlling will not be of much help in the fights. There are a few boss fights that get extremely annoying because you can have to use certain attacks with certain characters to do a certain amount of damage, then switch to another certain character to do another certain amount of damage, then switch to another character to do more damage, then start the process over again. That just gets really annoying in any game and feels tacked on just to extend the fight. If the developers thought it that important that the 4 characters worked together, they should have made the AI better so they would work together without the player having to constantly switch characters.

The graphics and sound are nothing memorable. Probably the best audio in the game came directly from the movie.

Simply put, this is a disappointing game that will not provide much entertainment. I see it as being along the same quality of work as the Harry Potter games, but not quite as entertaining. So, if you have kids, they may enjoy the game, but I suggest renting it. If you are over the age of 12, you probably won't want to play The Chronicles of Narnia. If you are just really into the Naria story, read the books again, watch the movie again, discuss it with friends, but don't bother playing this game.
