Unbelievably easy and short, however, kids may enjoy it, and there is some fun to be had.

User Rating: 5 | The Adventures of Tintin: The Game X360
I grew up with Tintin, one of the most popular comic book series in Europe, the books had it all, action, adventure, violence and most importantly, charm, wit and humour. The movie by Steven Spielberg looks amazing, so I wanted to play the game, yep, Ubisoft always hype up their games based on hit movies, surprise, surprise, this isn't much good, but it's not that bad either. It has some decent stuff in it. It's for the most part a 2D platformer, with very basic, VERY basic stealth and fighting. This is fine and all, it's for kids. However, Tintin has a large following among adults as well, so I hoped for a bit more challenging gameplay. It's a pretty good game for kids, it's not as violent as the movie sounds, one scene supposedly features a man being gunned down and using his own blood to point out the murderer, there is no blood here, and Tintin never dies, ehwn you lose all your health you get a brief 2-3 second silly cutscene and enemies that are taken out get those big cartoonish stars swirling around their heads, so it's very cartoony in that matter. The story is interesting, but very different from the movie in that Sakharine, the main villain isn't even in the game. Voice acting is fine, not sure if that's actually Jamie Bell, but I'm certain Andy Serkis doesn't voice Haddock here.

Dupont and Dupond only appear breifly at the end, I wanted to see more of those two, they were always the funniest characters. Haddock is psychotic in the game, delusional, drunk and dangerous to himself and others, which sort of fits with his earliest appearances in the comics, I liked his redemption somewhat by knowing the what happened to his ancestor in his fight against Red Rackham. These sections where you play as Haddock's ancestor aren't much good, but at least different, the game tries to mix things up with vehicle sections, the plane sections are dull as hell, the motorcycle stage is okay. The platforming is the best part, some stages near the end had me running, jumping and doing impressive feats quickly as numerous traps in a castle were unleashed that demanded some fast reactions, this was pretty cool. The boss fights against Allan suck, they're all the same in different environments. There's a co-op mode and Kinect enabled content, the story mode has to be played with a regular controller, thankfully. This Tintin game is, you know, decent enough, and younger Tintin fans are probably gonna enjoy it a lot, for adults there's not much challenge and the game is less than 4 hours long. Check out the movie instead.
