Terminator Salvation doesnt have much to offer, but what it does, it does great.

Since the old Future Shock, there was really no solid Terminator experience found in games, but now it looks like it starts to pick up.

Terminator Salvation follows and improves the Gears of War game mechanics. U move from cover to cover, flanking machines and finding best spot from which to take them down. The environment doesn't limit U much and U usually have number of choices.

When behind cover, U can easily just pick a direction to next cover and with one touch of a button, your character moves there. The system is very clear and allows U a quick and the most direct way on how to respond to threats. Also, some machines can be destroyed only from behind, or if U just want to let that last grenade count and its a good thing that game's mechanics help as they can.

At a time, U can carry only two weapons, up to five grenades and two infamous pipe bombs. Every weapon has huge advantage against one type of an opponent, while others, like rpg or grenade lancher, are more versatile. What counts is available ammo and situation U are in, so U have to change weapons a lot.

The game's greatest disappointment is length and number of enemies. There are three actually, plus two types of sub-bosses. On the other hand, they are all very well made and have a number of destructible places all over them. So even if there is so few types of things to shoot, shooting them is quite fun.

The environment is simply stunning. Post-apocalyptic LA looks just the way it should. Everything is torn apart, collapsed, smoking. U can see flying HKs above. Sometimes it really brings up memory on the first Terminator movie.
