Put this in your Tekken collection, but don't bother playing it.

So, a few days back I was playing Tekken 5, looking around in the original arcade game modes. Tekken 3 was good for an hour or so. Tekken 2 was alright. But playing the original Tekken was disastrous. It didn't feel right, didn't look right, and there were no thrills playing it at all. It was just a blocky, choppy, crappy game.

Graphics: Horrible. All the characters look as if they were Mokujin, except with different colors patted on them. I wasn't expecting the graphics to be a high point of the game anyway, though.

Gameplay: Tedious. Boring. Frustrating. Just about everything you wouldn't want to experience when playing a game.

Sound: The sound was good. There was okay music and sound effects. The grunts and screams weren't bad, either.

So, overall, it's not something you'd want to take time to play. It may have been the start of the great Tekken series, but that doesn't mean it's any good, and doesn't mean it does the series much justice. This is good for a obsessed Tekken fan who wants to put this in their collection, but that's the most use you'll get out of this game.
