Great Game

User Rating: 9 | Tekken Tag Tournament (Platinum) PS2
Tekken Tag Tournament was the 1st game released on the PS2 from what I heard. The game is not a continuation of the Tekken storyline however it is a spin off that features a Tag Mode which allows you to choose 2 characters of your choice instead of 1. Here is how it works press one of the back buttons and the character will walk off screen and the other character you chose will walk onto the screen and you will be playing as them. You can also perform some Tag combos where you attack your opponent and your partner will perform an attack on them as well when they get on screen. Now for the character roster it is the largest roster in a Tekken game until Tekken 6 came out (Tekken Tag 2 will have the biggest roster yet). The roster includes every character from the 1st 3 games excluding 6 characters which are: Jack (appears in T1), Marshall Law (appears in T1 & T2), Kuma Sr. (appears in T1 & T2), King I (appears in T1 & T2), Gon (appears in T3) and Doctor B. (appears in T3, though can be seen in Tekken Bowl Mode). The game also features 2 new characters that have yet to appear in another Tekken game, they are Tetsujin (a pallet swap for Mokujin, though Mokujin can be customized in T5 and T6 to look like him) and Unknown. The graphics are very good and are some of the best I've seen on the PS2 to this day despite being released back in 2000. The character endings all have the same background music and show clips of the character you chose for P1 doing stuff such as fighting an opponent. The only ending that uses an FMV cutscene is Unknown and doesn't have the music in the background of her video. The game also features the 1 on 1 mode featured in all the other Tekken games where you choose just 1 character, which is also fun. If you are a Tekken fan like me you will want to have this classic PS2 title in your collection and will also be looking forward to Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Other news this fall for PS3 owners only Tekken Tag Tournament will be rereleased in the Blu Ray Disc titled Tekken Hybrid, which includes a CGI Animated Film titled Tekken: Blood Vengeance,a prologue version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, similar to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and a remastered Tekken Tag Tournament titled Tekken Tag Tournament HD, despite me owning this I tend to get every Tekken installment they release or rerelease since i LOVE Tekken. If you can't find a copy you have to wait till this fall for the rerelease, though you can most likely find it in Gamestop or Play N Trade or websites such as Ebay and Amazon.com. Trust Me you will be happy with your purchase :)
