Incredible gameplay and graphics mixed with great music and a fun multiplayer experience. This installment is a must.

User Rating: 8 | Tekken Tag Tournament (Platinum) PS2
Tekken Tag Tournament isn't exactly a sequel; it's more of a spin-off. It was Namco's first Tekken game for the Playstation 2, and a great reboot for the series.

There isn't much a story to it, all that needs to be known is there is a world fighting championship going on that takes place anywhere and everywhere. This is no Final Fantasy or Metal Gear Solid; Tekken Tag is more of a mindless fun sport then anything else of a category. There is a small conspiracy going on, to do with a devil gene inside a certain characters body. Tekken Tag has basically the same story as Tekken 3, so nobody will be blown away by it.

The music isn't incredible, much like most fighting games, but it does build up the tension and helps keep the pace and motion more interesting. It's definitely not ground breaking, but it's definitely not bad by all means. It crosses the level of mediocre, just not the level of incredible.

The length of the story mode for each character is very short, but the multiplayer is what keeps gamers playing it. The game has a mini game called Tekken Bowling, which is partly self explanatory, but the core aspect of this installment of Tekken is the fact that you can have a tag partner. When you're in mid-combat you can hit R2 or L2 and your primary character jumps out of the screen in the place of your secondary character. The originality effort isn't very strong, but the fun effort is off the charts.

Verdict:

This game isn't anything bad, the gameplay and graphics are the main part of it, while the story is more of an accessory. There is enough fun in the game to have you play it for hours and hours, which is why it makes my list of Top 5 Favourite Games.
