Nostalgia is a hard feeling to shake, And playing the XBLA release of TMNT Arcade has thankfully makes shaking it even harder.

Ubisoft and Konami have teemed up with developer Digital Eclipse to bring one of the most beloved 4 player arcade brawlers to the Xbox Live Arcade. They have also given the game some much needed lasting value with 4 player Online Co-op play as well as some truly challenging Achievements.

The game plays exactly as you probably remember. You can play as one the four turtles and you go from left to right beating up every enemy that gets in your way. The game plays using the left analog stick and two buttons; A jumps and X attacks.

Just because the controlls are simple does not mean that this game is easy. The difficulty can at times be insane. Bosses can be extremely cheap and enemies will gang up on you at every chance they get. Since the game was designed with a difficulty that would force you to feed the original arcade quarters, the offline mode features unlimited continues, and this is a very welcome feature. The Online mode is set to a limited number of continues.

TMNT is a great way to re live a time when games were much simpler and Arcades were still as popular on street corners as consoles in living rooms, and at only 400 MS points, a trip to the past is a very worthy trip indeed.
