I was expecting a lot more from this game.

Alright so this was actually the first and only video game present that my Great Grandma bought me so that's truly the only reason for the tilt, emotional input to a horrible game.

Now that that's out of the way, when I first got this game I was really excited because I was young and I loved the little versions so much, but it doesn't have a lot of what those little versions have. Their is no walking measurer to show how much you walked your Tamagotchi since it is on the Game Boy. Their is no incentive to go and check up on it each day like on the little versions since if you leave it for a year, it would still be alive on the Game Boy (no timer).

The reason Tamagotchi was SUCH a big hit back then was because, in essence, it was an electronic pet. You had to keep up on it or it would die (although you would just hatch another one) so their was an incentive to keep track of it and you had a routine each day in order to make sure it was in the best of health. Where's that pet feeling on the Game Boy version. It was impossible to actually do back then with the technology. I'm just happy that Nintendo didn't make that mistake with the Pokemon Tamagotchi, in which they put it in the same thing as the original Tamagotchi, that was fun. (ahh, the endless hours of my arm getting tired just from constantly shaking those little machine, ahh good times, good times)

Up side: um, ah, really nothing unless your like me and your Great Grandma bought it for you too.

Down side: Everything

Overall: Just forget about the Game Boy version, get the little version if you can find it, or get the Pikachu version, or the Nintendogs.
