Quite possibly the best entry in the Ogre Battle / Tactics Ogre saga.

User Rating: 9.5 | Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis GBA
The Ogre Battle / Tactics Ogre series has always been quite compelling. Unique character creation, addictive class promotion, branching storylines - these games have always had a leg up on the rest of the strategy/RPG crowd.

Yet, past entries in the series were always lacking something. The original Ogre Battle lacked narrative development through the midgame. Tactics Ogre was difficult at times, perhaps requiring too much stat balancing. Ogre Battle 64 suffered from an overall lack of polish. These games were good, but not great.

Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis is remarkable for how well the game fires on all cylinders. Character development is addictive as ever, while the battles are neither too simple nor too hard. The story contains familiar elements drawn from the other Ogre games; scheming lords, proud races of demi-humans, and righteous clergy abound. The game as a whole is well-paced, a significant improvement from other titles in the series.

If you're a fan of strategy RPGs, play this game. They don't come much better.
