Super Monkey Ball Deluxe is one of those "Buy It becuase it's a laugh titles" which is really made for pick up and play.

Yes, Super Monkey Ball Deluxe is really just a pick up and play game. Not much depth to it. You're a monkey who rolls around in a ball winding through possibly hundreds of little platfrom levels which ask you to guide the monkey around obsticals, dips, ramps and tight lines to name a few. That's what the story mode is really. If you can call it a story mode. It's a row of increasingly difficult levels followed by some good ol' Super Monkey Ball humour with the occational "OOH AAH AAH" and possibly a few, "OOH OOH OOOH!" for good measure.

The graphics are good all round cartoon style goodness. There are some real nice effects like the lava ash flowing around the air in the Volcano area and some of the textures in the mini games wich look very detailed. The characters themselve look a bit rough round the edges but cut them some slack SEGA only know how to model hedgehogs.

The music is no biggy. Just normal Sega / Konmi style arcade music which sets a sutible backdrop when playing.

The game features 12 mini games many of which have multiple stipulations like special mode. And each one can support multiple people playing so this game would be great for a little party get together. Although there are alot of games most of them are very breif to play and you won't see yourself going back to it for a while. This game as I have mentioned is a real pick up and play party game. If you're looking for a game with an in-depth story, months of play and multiple unlockables then you might want to look elswear.
