A must play RPG. why? because it's one of the BEST EVER

I'm a huge fan of the Suikoden series and it's really because of this game. I played the first Suikoden when it came out and really enjoyed it, but when I bought Suikoden 2. Oh wow, this game blew me away. I made everything great about the first one even better. What really makes a good RPG is it's story and characters, and this game has probably the best of the two. I still to this day haven't play an RPG that has a story that is so moving. You really care about the characters in this game. It'll make you laugh, cry, pissed off, and super happy. Has probably the best bad guy out of any RPG, and it has segments through the game where the story shifts and changes, but in good ways, so you're always wanting to progress forward and see whats next, there's never a dull moment.

As for graphics, well, I love this older sprite look personally, a lot of people only wanted 3D graphics at the time, but these aren't poorly done sprites by any means, they are pretty, and it's very fitting to the game I think.

The music is awesome, I just love the music in all of the Suikoden games, I don't have a personal favorite, they're all really good, maybe Suikoden 3 is one of the best, but I can't decide, they all have a similar style that shouts Suikoden.

The battles are awesome, 6 players in battle, you can recruit 108 characters in this game and there's special team attacks, cool spells, it has it all. Also, there's big war battles as well, it has a lot to offer, oh did I mention there's tons of mini games as well.

Over all, this is a must play/own RPG if you're anybody who loves RPG's, I'm writing this review nearly 11 years after it's release, but I tell you, ti's that good STILL. a new copy will set you back like 250 bucks, but you can find a used copy for under 100. I recommend picking yourself up a copy, support the series. You won't be disappointed, esp when there's not really any good RPG's currently to satisfy, unless you just like to look at pretty graphics, but you can get any game in that cause. 10 out 10, actually no, sorry, this game goes to 11.
