Stronghold was a complete disaster. This game had no formula to the gameplay. Pretty much you got food and money( which is painstakingly hard to accumulate) then you sent waves of soldiers right into the enemy. That pretty much sums it up. Oh and the campaign is difficult and has a very i wunna say boring or just kinda melancholy storyline. There is little emotion in it and it is very un-interesting. The skirmish mode is complete waste. If sending waves of men at enemy castles and just watching them get slaughtered sounds fun to you then get this game (i wouldnt reccomend it though). But most of the skirmish mode has you watching peasants run about doing daily duties for hours. Also the happiness system is totally one sided. You have to keep your peasants happy to keep them working. Which makes sense, but it is ridicoulas when no matter what you do it seams like they hate you. Then you have to lower if not cut the taxes completly. This makes it so you have little or no money causing you to not be able to buy any troops. THIS SUCKS. Also there are little squads of mice that scurry about your toww, they bring unhappiness too. But soon they build up and there are hordes of them wreaking havoc. The only way to make them go away is to get a falconer and have his birds kill them. Although when the happiness is down so low your peasants wont man these jobs, so unhappiness= no falconer which= more rats which = more unhappiness. Once you find yourself lingering into this spiral of death there is no way to get out. There is also dung piles which do about the same things as rats. Oh and you neeed your peasants fed with food to, but they eat like pigs. and on top of that they wont harvest food because they are unhappy... DONT BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!
