First, I am not a racing game fan. I've playing GT2 and 3 and was horrible at them both. I can't corner worth crap in a video game so I always try and get a much faster car so I can make up for the lack of cornering skills. That being said, I actually enjoy this game and have gotten into quite a bit. The racing seems like an excellent mix between arcade phsyics and realistic physics. Just enough to feel like an action movie but not too much that you don't feel like you're driving a real car. My big problem is lack of vehicles. Civics being one since they are the standard icon of import racing and tuning. Honda in general was missing unfortunately. Also, there are some new, fast cars out there such as the Dodge SRT-4 that aren't in the game. There aren't old school cars either such as a 90's 300zx TT or an old Maxima. Also, the lack of parts was surprising. I want more than one body kit option, more than two turbo part companies to choose from. I'm thinking, if this is a game about tuning, it should have more options than GT but alas, it doesn't. The paint and decals are decent enough but again, compared to Tony Hawk's options for making your own board, they are lacking. Other than those few complaints, the races are exciting and its fairly easy to beef up a car in a short amount of time. I've got a Subaru Impreza that's running 0-60 in 2.4 seconds. Not too shabby. There ARE some good cars in the game and you can unlock more later on such as the FATF Supra. The tracks are decent and once you get used to them, they are a lot of fun. The little combos you can pull off with spins and slides and the like are small but play a big part in earning extra respect and filling your nitrous. Not a bad game but with a little more work, it could have been an awesome, incredible racing game. But, it's only good. If you like racing games or tuning cars, it's a definite check out. And p.s. The nitrous effects are straight out of 2 Fast 2 Furious. Nice touch.
