Before I start I need to state that I own and have enjoyed the original Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (PS3), despite its flaws and short comings. That being said I also enjoy Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 for the PS3, but I feel unsatisfied.

The biggest problem with any game is how long it takes to beat. If it's too long one would get frustrated and might quit. If it is too short then one would feel ripped-off. TFU2 while fun takes at most 2-3 sessions to beat, about 6-8 hours.

Any fan of the original game will enjoy what we have here. It is the same over-the-top force powers, the same great voice acting, and a good story.

The graphics are as good if not better than TFU. The physics and targeting while not fully fixed are better than the first game. The powers have remained the same except now you can mind trick as well. There is even an unleashed mode where, for a short time, you can really pound your opponents to the ground and make fighting the bigger enemies that much simpler.

The story is interesting for the course of the game and leaves you with a similar option at the end just like the last game, but something is missing.
The thing is, while some elements of the story get explained during the main mode, the rest of the story can only be found out by beating the challenge maps. This incentive to beat the extra missions feels wrong. This is where the game rips you off by holding the extra cinematics hostage, to add more play time.

You are encouraged to explore in text but as you play you noticed that you get cut off from areas you just cleared, making it impossible to back track later if you want to find those missing holocrons. There is no help in letting you know what maps have bonus items that you can find either, unlike the first game.

The boss fights areā€¦ different. In the last game you fought most bosses in a phase or two before the GOW stile finishing move is done. While there are multiple parts to each boss fight they don't have same feeling, and some finishes are disappointing.

As I stated before, TFU2 is too short. There needs to be more to this game than what is. What gameplay there is can be fun and enjoyable if only there was more of it.

TFU2 is only going to be worth it to hardcore fans of the original game. There are better, deeper, and longer action/adventure games out there.
