guide rebel alliance operations in this spectacular but challenging videogame.

User Rating: 7.5 | Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II GC
Finally a star wars game deserves your attention. you command kickass rebels Luke Skywalker or Wedge Antilles in specific missions following strictly movies developments in attempts to pierce Empire plans to dominate the galaxy.
the missions are up to recreate faithfully in intensity and pace those seen in the famous trilogy movies.
you commence your task at first taking a ride in tatooine where you can acquire necessary skills to handle your basic craft, like flyng, drift, accelerate, brake, and 360 degrees swinging. you learn to use your ordinary weapons like laser, ion cannons and bombs.
when you' re ready you can embark main mission attack to death star that faithfully recreates the ultimate part seen in "star wars IV a new hope" along trench tunnel ride.
at first you can pilot just X-Wing the legendary alliance vehicle. as soon as you beat main missions new missions appear (ison corridor, battle of hoth, prisons of maw, etc) for a total of 10 missions.
when you beat each mission you get a score based mainly on your skills to overtake your objectives (time limit, fire accuracy, enemies destroyed, lost allied, lost lifes, more). these factors are crucial to get medals (bronze, silver and gold). useless to say these medals are not easy, gold medals are near impossible and require many efforts and many missions failed before you can get these awards bringing play to be some waty frustrating. However to get medals rewards you points, bronze 3 points, silver +3 points on bronze, gold +4 points on silver. the points are necessary to unblock 4 new missions require not less of 30 points each. this is where the game shines, really its challenge is huge and can put to hard try hardcore gamers too. i reckon this is the aspect greatest, to get gold medals is so satisfying when you manage to, not a easy task.
Another interesting aspect is you can unblock many vehicles to use in different missions and each vehicle has its ups and downs (y-wing, a-wing, b-wing, airspeeder, millenium falcon and more...) Really some vehicles result useless in specific missions, for istant Slave I results in a very large and slow machine easy to be targeted by enemy making this vehicle really useful in just 1 mission.
Weapons are excellent, from your standard laser to secondary weapons like bombs, ion cannons, cable, lock on missiles and more.
Graphically this game is excellent you can live movies as near as. Sound is perfect, all your favorite star wars music are present here recreating perfectly the missions.
what to say more? take it if you like the challenges and you are star wars fan because you won't be disappointed.
