A game that has not gotten greatstreet credit, may in fact be one of the best Star Wars games ever. Yes, you heard me right. Episode III is definitely not a revolutionary game though. It had graphics that were okay in its day, but are nothing compared to The Force Unleashed.
But the true beauty of Epi.III lies in the gameplay itself. It has a fairly long storyline that covers and expands on the movie. Although some of the missions that are created soley for this game may upset hardcore Star Wars fans; they do justice to the movie and even provide some info that was left out of the movie.
The controls are very good for a standard adventure game, you have the light, heavy, critical attacks, and the ever useful jump button. Thankfully you do not just go through levels button masshing like in Dynasty Warriors, there is in fact, a great deal of motivation to fight through every level. The audio is nothing special. The voice cast, while having some of the original actors, Anakin and Obi-Wan are voiced by their Clone Wars Cartoon counterparts. Anakin's voice acting is atrocious; but it doesn't take away from the gameplay. Music from both trilogies is played throughout, thus adding to the gameplay.
In my oppinion though, the vs. fights that happen throughout the game are the most enjoyable. They are very difficult for the first few fights, but thankfully as you get used to them, they are easier. There are something like 17 or 18 levels, which provides more than enough gameplay time for beginners. Also, as an added bonus, for the last mission you can fight as Anakin, and get to see a special cutscene if you beat Obi-wan.
All in all, Episode III is a good game. If you look past its faults, it turns out to be a great Star wars experience. If you are a Star Wars fan then buy it, if your not, you will still be pleased overall. And if you don't feel like forking out $40-50.00 for the Force Unleashed, then this will keep you oucupied until the price comes down.
