The latest installment to the Battlefront serious is ambitous, but lacks some of the things to make on all time great.

The return of the Star Wars: Battlefront series features multi-layerd maps and new customization.

The great thing about the game is the multi-layerd maps and that what you do on one can affect the entire battle. You can fight on the ground in tanks and on foot, in the sky with starfighters, in space with starfighters and, after taking down the shields, the capital ships that loom in orbit. The only problem with this is that you can spend the entire battle just on the ground, as after a time the CPU will destroy the enemy capital ship.

You can also customize your characters apperance and arsenal. The apperance is more or less the same as it's predecessor, Renegade Squadron, but there is a differnece with the loadout. Unlike Renegade Squadron, there are several different preset classes (Soldier, Heavy, Assault, Sniper and Pilot) with three classes open for customization. New weapons created by Rebellion and Lucasarts enhance this dramatically.

But the game does have it's downsides. First, it has poor graphics at close range. Look at it more than just a glance and you will see some roughly circular shapes (Like the ARC troopers for the Republic's karma skirt) have little squares poking out of them. Second, online is tainted with people hacking and using unlimited customization credits, lightsabers and force powers when they are not a hero and much more. Lastly, while there is alot of gameplay such as trying to earn medals, Elite Squadron will become boring OFFLINE so you will want to go ONLINE. Then you will have to deal with hackers, or become one yourself.
