A great game in almost everything, however with only two levels, Star Soldier R lacks a lot of content.

User Rating: 8.5 | Star Soldier R WII
Star Soldier R is a sidescroller shooter in which you try to beat your high score in one of the two levels. The first level is two minutes and the second one is the first level combined with another level, making it five minutes.
GRAPHICS: The graphics look very nice. Explosions are big and even with many ships and objects in the game, the frame rate never slows down. Each ship has its own distinct look and movement. The bosses are very detailed.
GAMEPLAY: You control your ship and shoot the enemy ships and other powerups and objects. You can control the ship speed, I prefer the fastest speed. The main gun has many different stages to it, and getting a powerup will increase the amount of bullets come out in a shot. Another power-up makes a little orb surround you and deflect blasts from enemys. You can make these orbs turn into turrets that automaticly shoot enemys. It sounds confusing but its not. You can shake the wii remote to move the orbs, but I didn't find it needed very much. Finally, if you destroy an enemy or an object, your combo meeter goes up. If you defeat the boss at the end, you will get points based on how high your combo is. If you die, you won't lose any lives but you lose the combo and your powerups go away. The gamplay is the usuall shoot-em-up with some good twists.
SOUND: The effects are fine but I think the music stands out. There are a few enjoyable techno tunes that are good to hear in the game.
CONTROL: The controls are great. However, there are three control options if you don't like one. I personaly like the remote and nunchuck combo.
REPLAY: The two levels are addictive and will make you come back to get a higher score. However, there is only five minutes of gameplay which realy lowers the score, no matter how addictive it is.
OVERALL:Star Soldier R is worth your money, but With only two levels, expect to come back to the same thing.
