"SSX 3" is one of the greatest extreme sports games ever concieved. Like its predecessor "SSX Tricky", it is a ton of fun to play. However, it is a much better game. Like "Grand Theft Auto III", the game is completely open-ended to the player. You travel down a huge mountain looking for all sorts of crazy snowboarding challenges. Like in Tony Hawk, you can customize your character's clothing and accessories. Songs can also be bought at special stores as well as different special move sets. The graphics and special-effects are phenomenal and the framerate and animation are silky smooth. The combos and special moves you can perform are downright over-the-top crazy. Also, the challenge from computer controlled rivals are tough, yet are not frustrating to beat. This is a a game to beat in terms of extreme sports. It's more accessible and more fun than the "Tony Hawk" games. Grade: A
