A great game at first impressions, however it slowly gets repetitive, but even with the repetitiveness it's still great!

For those of you that don't know what exactly SPORE is, it's a game where you design a creature and what it evolves into. Each stage in your species life is done in a different style each time, making this game extremely replay able as in each stage (besides the final stage: Space Stage) There are three different routes you can make you creature take:
Green: Tends to be friendly and good.
Blue: Neutral. Mixes good and evil together.
Red: Tends to be horrible to other species and militant.

In addition to this your creature is designed by YOU in the Creature Creator. Not only does this allow you to creature creatures, it also allows you to creature outfits, vehicles and buildings for your creatures in later stages. As good as this sounds however, I couldn't help by find myself a little disappointed by the actual customization of the game. Unless you are extremely talented your creatures tend to look similar to each others in one way or another and the outfits aren't the easiest of things to put on your creatures as they can often go through your creatures skin. Disappointing but when it doesn't your creature can truly look like a masterpiece

As stated earlier each different stage in your creatures evolution has a different Genre, this may sound like it could get messy but believe me it doesn't. The lists of the different stages are as follows:

Cell Stage: Runs like a 2D flash game. Your creature's goal is to eat, eat and possibly eat. This stage is the shortest and the easiest of the stages. At first this seems like a lot of fun, but soon grows dull.

Creature stage: You're finally on land! The game seems to be based around this stage; whatever you put on your creature now has use! The goal of this stage is to befriend or destroy other Species. This stage is possibly the longest stage and as with the last towards the end, it gets dull again.

Tribal Stage: Your creatures have now devolved into a tribe, Yippee! This Stage runs like a simple RTS game, and as with the last stage the goal is to befriend or destroy other Species, whilst making sure your tribe has a full belly! This stage can is quite fun and is the first stage your creatures gain clothes!

Civilisation stage: The Planet is your species, but not your faction's! The stage is again like an RTS but at the is also a city builder! This stage is possibly the most fun of them all, and is also quite strategic. Your goal is simple TAKE OVER THE PLANET.

Space Stage: Your Creatures are now in space... forever. The Final Stage, it runs like a Space Trader game and is quite fun, until you realise it's never ending. The Goal is... well make your own I guess, however most the time its expand your Empire. You colonise planets to make spice and Trade it to your own planets or allies planets. This Stage is quite fun and if you get bored of SPORE you can always come back to it, and play it again. (This Stage is updated by Spore Galactic Adventures, this review was made without use of the expansion pack.)

Overall Summary:

A great game at first impressions, however it slowly gets repetitive, but even with the repetitiveness, it's still great! Not as customisable as is made out, but is still a fantastic game!
