The Webhead Is Back But For How Long? How The Heck Am I Supposed To Know!!!!!!!
It was Memorial Day when I bought this game as I played it to complete the game on the Normal difficulty mode. It took me a month and seven days to beat the game on Normal Mode. There are various things you can do in this game. Out of all the other Spiderman games created, I heard this one is the best. My question is if it was worth $40 for this game. The movie hit box-office and I thought the game would be pretty good. I don't feel like I got my money's worth out of it. Anyway, on with the review.
Spiderman carried a great legacy from before. This game was based on the game. Some of the levels include villians such as Shocker, Scorpion, and Vulture. The movie's main villian was the Green Goblin. Where were Scorpion, Vulture or Shocker in this movie? No where to be found while they were still in the game. The Green Goblin should have been discovered by Peter Parker earlier on in this game. All the other levels should have been taken out. Many levels were wasted in this game. Although, they were fun. All the security levels such as 'Breaking and Entering' + 'Chemical' should have been removed. And the level that had Green Gobling before 'Breaking and Entering' should have been removed since you had to do the same thing in the level before. I also believe the ending was sort of a dissapointment.
Gameplay : Here in this game, there are various ways to control out Spiderman. There is enhanced and classic controls. The only sitdown was the Green Goblins controls which are confusing. Everything else is just fine. You actually can do what ever a spider can. Climb walls, zip through another approach, plus more! Swing your way through to save civillians and keeping Mary Jane from being kidnapped. The best thing about training mode is that Bruce Campbell (voice of the trainer) actually tells you HOW to play this game. That means you do not have to be a Spiderfan to know how to play the game or you don't even have to play the previous games.
Graphics : The graphics did live up to my expectations but I believe the creaters of this game could have used up the whole DVD-ROM disc and add a little more. That means they should have removed the unneccessary levels and futures which didn't have anything to do with the movie. You should be able to go farther away from buildings and your height/width meter.
Sound : The sound of Tobey Maguire (Spiderman's voice) sounded to make a lot of sense due to all of the sarcasim. However, Vulture, Shocker, and Scorpion didn't sound evil enough. Neither did Mary Jane. They sounded too afraid. Bruce Campbell's sarcasm and comments which made you laugh (such as ''I'm gonna grab a ham sandwich) made training exciting and NOT boring.
IF YOU ARE A REAL SPIDERFAN, GET THIS GAME! If you just wanted to play the game, just rent it. I really think it is worth only $40. All the extras made this game change to a whole new level. I am not completely done with it yet but I will be sooner or later. If you really want to buy the game, you can. There are some levels in this game that are really fun to play but they are not a part of the movie.
Like the Shocker, Vulture, and Scorpion levels. Those levels were just there to fill up space on the DVD-ROM disc. This game is really good. It is NOT an RPG. This is a GoldenEye 007 type of game. Try to complete this game on Hero and Super Hero difficulties. You unlock lots of stuff.
By the way Bruce Campbells presence in this game was awesome which is why the sound is 10.
