Speedball 2 , a superb game , one the best games of a generation and a title that has yet to be bettered in it's field. i fact the closest a game has come would be Deathrow , a nice homage to speedball but a game at least one sequel short of getting everything right. so what made speedball so great .... well first off there was the speed and fluidity of the game .. everything looks great and played exactly how you'd expect Secondly depth , in game there were the score multipliers and the ability to charge the ball so that it would harm other players .. the fact that you could play tactically and target opponent's players for injury. the ability to buy upgrades for your players and to be able to buy free agents to bolster your squad. then there were the touches of class that hit you. simple things that really impress you wounded player being streatchered off the arena would let their arm fall limply off the streatcher or the guy selling things shouting "ice cream... ice cream" when the hush came over the crowd with worry for their fallen hero i always love little touches like this in games ... so to conclude speedball had it all and is still one of the greats
