S.O.S. by Vic Tokai could possibly be the most underrated side-scrolling action game of all time. While it basically resembles what would be "The Poseidon Adventure: The Video Game," this game has just as must excitement and tention as a modern survival-horror game. As one of four main characters, your goal is to excape a capsized cruise ship, and it is up to you whether or not you try to lead any number of up to a hundred other people off of the ship. The combination of people you have with you at the end of the game affect the ending, so think about the possible amount of endings this game must have!

This game has some definite replay value, as the sinking ship has an a quite large map to explore, plus it could take hundreds of tries before you meet all of the characters in the game.

Oh, I said "tries" because you only have 1 hour in game (around twenty minutes real time). Each time your character is rendered uncounscious in any way, you lose 5 in-game minutes. Worth a look, an overlooked, old-school SNES classic.
