Sonic shows us that the 3D blues won't get to him in this great 2D sonic platformer. A must have for all DS owners.

User Rating: 8.5 | Sonic Rush Adventure DS
THE GOOD: Just as good as the orginal. - Very fast. -The boost make the game unique. -Playing as blaze is fun. -The main bad guy isn't Eggman!! - A ton of missions that you can play.

THE BAD: The ship lvl's are boring and repitive. -Some how they squeased Eggman into the plot. -One zone is too hard and long. - It would be nice to have Tails as a unlockable character.(p.s this does not affect the score)
- Cut-scenes are boring and poorly made.

Remember the good old days when sonic games was fun, fast, and not 3D. You may think Sega kill sonic with 3D but fear not the sequil of the popular sonic rush is here: Sonic Rust Adventure for the DS. Yes you can finally again blast through fast paced levels in 2D platforming.

The levels(zones) are fasted paced and fun. The backgrounds are good looking and the frame rates are good when you are going at high speeds. The Basic gameplay of this game is to get to one end to the other. When you go through these levels you have to collect rings to keep you alive while avoiding robots and other traps. Also tricks and grinding are a fresh twist. Doing these tricks will earn you boost which can make you invincible and you go really fast. of each level you will be graded on you preformace during it. The score is based up on how many tricks you do on the level, the time it took you to get through it, and how many rings you colected through out the level. Your grade determans how many materals you will get; these materals are used to build new ships that will get you to level to level. Playing with Blaze makes the game a whole new expearience.

The cut-scenes will ocour between the levels you go through to explan the story to you. Though you will be skipping through these scenes because they are very boring. The story is Tails find a disturbance in the sea some where and sonic and him check it out. They crash their plane due to a storm. Then they end up plane wreak on a strange island and meet a character named Marie or some thing like that. The they build a ship and traval between islands, meet up with Blaze then defeat the evil pirates and thus ends the game. Very boring if you ask me. But we are not here to see a cheesey story are we;no.

The ship mini games are repitive. First you plot the course you want to go with your ship. Then while you are travaling you must not get killed during the mini game that you play or you will have to restart. Though this seems fun it's not because you will be doing this a lot through out the game trying to find new islands or find Jonny(bad guy) to get chaos emeralds.

There is missions that you can atempt once you mastered the game. These mission are very rewarding. Beating a mission can win you: more sound tests tracks, decorations for your home island or flashy metals. Most of these mission are chalanging and will keep you intresting for a long time. Oh did say there is 150 missions.

Sonic Rush Adventure is very fun and will hook you on it. The game play reminds you that the Sonic Team can still prove to you they know how to make a great Sonic game. Though it wiold be nice that Tails could be an extra playable character but a can't complane. Sonic Rush Adventure should be a part of your DS libary; Sonic fan or not
