Not what its said to be, but I guess opinions are opinions.

User Rating: 7 | Sonic Rivals 2 PSP
Well, Sonic and Co. are at it again and its got a plus side, 2D.

STORY:
Not the series' finest in the ways of good, but its got a simple drive that keeps you anxious to know the next part.
One complaint I have here is the cut scenes, there are none.

GAMEPLAY:
The gameplay itself is mostly good but it has a few flaws.
It may have more characters than the first game, but none of them are actually different to each other except for Special Moves, some of which are tacky and useless.
The levels are poorly designed in some areas but it still has a pleasant Sonic feel to it and the 2D gameplay really shines.
There are a variety of game modes to play, like Race, Knockout, Capture the Chao and a few more.
One thing I would love to see in more Sonic games is the sonic boom, Sonic can run faster than the speed of sound, but when have we seen him do it?

GRAPHICS:
I noticed that the game doesn't do as much as it could with the graphics, I mean its on par with a PS1 game, it feels like the designers just got lazy.
The animation on the characters is nice, but its a bit slow.
The backgrounds would be very nice to see in a 3D Sonic game and you get a chance to gaze upon their glory in Free Play.

SOUND:
Voices have been the subject of debate for Sonic fans but this game changes everything, I think that Jason Griffith is improving.
The music is mostly college rock but its not that bad.

OVERALL:
Sonic has a long way to go before hes on top again, but some games have shown improvement.
