I can't complain. The graphics and gameplay are okay. Not sub par, but not as beautiful as I know Wii games can be.

Sonic hasn't been at the top of his game for a long time, so when I read some of the Amazon comments for this new game, I thought "Whoa? Really? That good?" So I had to get it for myself to try it out.

After an hour of play, I was satisfied by the 1-player mode. It has decent graphics, and I'm glad somebody other than Nintendo has tried to make a competent adventure game. The plot leaves much to be desired, and the gameplay hasn't changed much since the last few successful Sonic games, but maybe that's a good thing.

The missions are plentiful, but there are no difficulty settings. This means that when you complete it, it's done. Completely. I'm sure this affects the lifespan in some way, even if there are more missions than I thought.
BUT. There was one stage where I was sick of the game and its odd controls. The odd controls and the missions that vary ridiculously in difficulty ended in me selling the game. It's not for everyone.

The eye candy. I must confess, in this game, there wasn't much. The environments were decent, but in parts didn't seem up to even Gamecube standard. For instance, in the Party Mode, the graphics weren't very nice at all, though it all changed when I went into 1 player mode. I'd prefer it if the graphics quality was the same throughout, but many aspects of the Party Mode seemed rushed.
There were no destructible environments. No flowers that rustled when you swished past them, no short glimmers of the sun at certain angles and no intricate patterns. Instead, we had solid obstacles, with few glitches, no icky sharp edges (graphical nightmare, those sharp edges are.) and some rocking music.
So I suppose I can't complain. On one hand, the graphics are okay Not sub par, but not as beautiful as I know Wii games can be.
