Feels like they wrote the wrong game

I didn't entirely know what to expect when I played this game and as a result, I think I ended up fairly disappointed. The immediate beginning of the game starts off with a great deal of promise. You find yourself in your apartment where there's a considerable amount of items that you can interact with and it gives you a really rich feeling of the environment. Unfortunately this richness ends up feeling entirely wasted as there is very little point in any of the interactions throughout the rest of the game. The creators created a very detailed worlds that feels mostly pointless.

Shortly after the beginning of the game, you wake up in a scary and mysterious place. The environment is masterfully designed. It feels an awful lot the beginning of System Shock 2 (which is a detailed role playing game). There is even what appears to be promise of having a PDA-like tool that you'll be able to upgrade over the course of the game. You'll begin the game fairly terrified that something is going to jump out and kill you at any moment. Where things really fell apart for me is when I realized there is actually no combat in the game and really very little interaction with monsters. What little there is amounts to you simply hiding in the shadows.

The story is fairly interesting, however sometimes the levity between the two main characters feels entirely out of place.

In the end, it seems like making what is ultimately a very simple and unchallenging adventure game could have been so much more with more elements from an action or role playing game instead.
