When I first saw this comming out I thought... ok... it will be a cute childrens game. After spending an afternoon playing it... I have to say it is for both young and old alike! Lets take a further look into what makes this a great game to add to your collection. First of all.... it is Snoopy. Young and old alike can relate to him because of the longevity of the character. The gameplay is set after his dreams from the doghouse of taking out the infamous Red Baron. There is more here than just that. You start out in the yard in the city on your Doghouse. You get a preflight test to teach you how to fly. Then you can purchase upgrades or new planes from money you earn as you play the game. The game is Mission based so you must complete them in the order they happen in order to advance to the next level. Each mission is described in detail by one of the many characters from the Peanuts Gang. Don't "KID" yourself here... the game is made for kids but can be difficult at times. The one thing I really wish they would have changed is that when you hit a building, ground or water you would crash... but instead you take on damage and keep flying. That removed realism from the flying experience. I (flying in sims regularly) was also dissapointed that they don't allow you to do an invert in the plane you fly. I am not sure if the later planes or upgrades will allow you to do it but the Sopwith Camel is incapable of this manuver. I did however find it very nice that they game did support both force feedback joysticks as well as game pads. I personally use the Microsoft Forced Feedback Joystick and it just is great for this game. The graphics are just great for a game of this type. They give you that cartoon look but add modern day graphic features (shading ect.) to bring out the most of the game. They are extremely colorful which also brings out the cartoon feel as well. I really did like the mini movies with the Peanuts characters as well. Not like the made for T.V. series... but with alot more 3D feel to them. Like the characters were going to walk right out of the screen at you. Very nicely done. The audio as well is great in that the voice overs for the characters is just like the T.V. series. The sounds from the plane to the noises around you are all very well done. It just amazed me that they spared nothing in the creation of this game. I am using a Soundblaster X-Fi and you can hear the other planes and things happening all around you in the surround sound mode. In conclusion... if you want a game that is just alot of fun to play, has great graphics and sound, and is a great price as well, this would be the game for you. If you have a love for flying or dogfighting... you will also love this game. For young and old alike... this game is a winner!!!
