Being a great deal at 10$ small arms is propbably one of the best XBLA games to date.

User Rating: 8.9 | Small Arms X360
Gameplay: Small Arms is a 2D side-scroller SSB style but with guns. What you get with the games 43 MB download is 12 characters, 12 guns, a variety of single player modes, online capabilities with guests able to sign in right then-and-there, and a lot of lush levels for you too mess around in. The control is geometry wars style with left stick for movement and right stick for aiming your gun. RT is to shoot and LT is alt fire, A is jump, X and B are melee attacks, and Y is to charge which can save you from flying off a cliff. Aiming can be slightly difficult at first but you eventually catch on. The weapons are quite varied with a telekinesis gun, an icicle shooting gun, and a sniper rifle with a laser scope. Characters vary from a Mexican fighting chicken, to a knight, and to a space marine just to name a few. Single player has fairly short 30 mins. Campaign (but it is randomized!) and there is a challenge mode and a firing range to practice your skills. But multiplayer is awesome over XBL allowing you to bring a friend with you to play; and there is no lag online which gives it an A+. Some minor flaws are somewhat distracting; Like is 4 people get into a huge brawl and there are plenty of explosions you sometimes lose track of your character but I don't find it hard to find them again. A patch might come soon to fix these problems though.

Graphics: For a 43 Mb game this game looks really awesome. Characters are all rendered nicely and explosions look as good as ever. Fire effects engulf people while ice stops people in their tracks.

Sound: The sound in this game is on the about 3/4 good sorta track, Rockets sound how they're suppose to and crossbow stings sound good too except it’s nothing sensational. Everything sounds how it is suppose to.

Value: This game costs 800 MP's so about 10$ US or about 13$ CAN for us. This is the first (I think) game of this type that has came out on the Xbox 360 and it defiantly is a great value when SSB games cost about 45$ +. You are getting is a game that is extremely cheap in a good way. Downloadable content is already coming soon with new characters and maps.

Finishing: Small arms is a great game with a great value. It is a party game that I sure won't forget. Single player is short but sweet and multiplayer is a blast with a few minor camra-ing issues but fairly tolerable. If you liked SSB games, Geometry wars, and party games I suggest buying small arms.
