Sly Cooper Is a good, Platformer that doesn't take any bold steps to stand out. But it is still fun for the Genre's fans

Sly Cooper and The Theivious Racoonus is a good platformer but does nothing to make it stand out from the horde of Platformers out there. one thing the game does that keeps it unique from others is utilizes Sly's Theivery skills often times you will have to use them to get past many obsticales in your path. Another thing that I thought was done very uniquely was the boss fights each boss has a strategy that must be followed in order to defeat them. Like the Third boss, you must hit butons according to rythm in order to dodge her attacks. The fourth boss on the other hand the Panda King wasn't so original as it was just hacking and slashing him in order to beat him. My one and only major complaint about the game is its easy difficult through the game and The Master Theife sprints being really really hard they almost feel impossible to beat.
Sly does well to distance itself from the Storylines of many platformers such as having something of value stolen and you must get it back. or the princess is kidnapped and you must save her. instead the story revolved around sly's quest for revenge to get his book that was taken from his family when he was a young boy and Get back and the Feindish Five for taking away his family. The game has some humor in it to when it describes how the Feindish Five became the criminals they are.
Overall Sly is an Average Platformer, but thats not a bad thing, it has enough fun elements for newcomers. But I think its safe to say that fans of Platformers will get the most out of it. 8/10
