The first title in the Sly Cooper series brings a solid platforming experience to any player.

User Rating: 8.5 | Sly Raccoon PS2
Sly Cooper and the Theivous Racoonous is perhaps one of the greatest platformers ever to appear on the PS2.Although it has a few flaws(They're aren't really any at all) that stop it from achieving supremacy over other games in the same genre on the same platform.Starting with the graphics,I have to say they look great with the shell shaded look adding to the cartoon feel of the game. The story is pretty good,it tells the tale of Sly Cooper and his friends Bentley and Murray on a quest to retrieve Sly's family book known as the Theivous Racoonous, stolen by the Fiendish Five who all carry pieces of the book.Sound wise, the game gives the player a good variety of beats and rhythms to add to the atmosphere of the game, and the alarms are very loud and well alarming to guards.Difficulty is no problem in this game, even though with one hit your dead, but the same applies to guards and such. There are ways to get a few extra hits landed on yourself though, all you have to do is collect 100 coins to gain an extra hit on yourself, simple as that. The games is relatively short in length,I haven't completed the game yet,but I'm half through it,and I've only spent about 3 or 4 hours with it.You can probably get a few more hours of enjoyment out of it by trying to finish all the thief runs and collecting all of the items on each level. The game can be quite hilarious at some point, and is a great deal of fun.For $5 at Game Stop, you can't go wrong really.Your bound to enjoy your experience with this game.
