Well this is my review on Skate 3. I'm going to break this review down into parts, Give a rating on each part and then give the game an overall rating (: So lets get started.

First lets look at the gameplay. Just like the previous 2 games, Skate uses a revolutionary system to trick with. This system involves using the right analog stick to trick the players skateboard. Being a skater myself, I notice that the direction and motion of the right analog stick controls the board in an almost real way, e.g, flick the stick up, you'll ollie. Swipe the stick, you'll pop shuv-it. This system is very easy to pick up and if you've played the other games in the series, you'll find picking up some of Skate 3's new tricks up quickly. The game is basically free roam with the addition of challenges such as; Photo challenges, Video challenges, Races, Pro battles. There isnt many of each challenge but as you progress through them, They build up your abilities and by the end of them game, you'll be skating like a pro. This gameplay is original outside the franchise and is truly revolutionary. 9/10

Now lets look at the plot. The story follows you and your witty lined buddy Reda dreaming on making it big in the skating industry in the form of making a team, selling boards, etc. As you progress through the game, you unlock members to join your team and help you along your way to skate industry mogul. The storyline is very weak, basically an opening and an ending, doesnt really follow a plot throughout apart from the team challenges which just feel like normal challenges so not much difference. So where storyline is concerned, not one for you gamers who like your games with a lot of back bone. 5/10

Moving on to graphics, The graphics are really refined for Skate 3. They are a step up from Skate 2 and have a more modern edge to them unlike the orginal grungey look. At first I thought this was a bad thing diverting away from the orginal theme but after a few hours, The technical looked dawned upon me, and I fell for them. The skaters move around much more fluently. They bail from the skateboards with more realistic physics for example, mess up a trick, you'll come off the board and stumble rather than falling right over. The skaters including your player also pull off the tricks much more fluently showing clear use of research into skating. Well done EA (: Graphics I would rate 9/10 for Skate 3.

Longevity, for all who doesn't know what this is, It basically means replay value, what is there to do once I have completed the main game? Well for this, it kind of depends on what type of person you are. If your up the hardcore end of gaming like myself, You'll find 60 trophies to achieve, 12 of which are from DLC (5 from Maloof Money Cup 2010 NYC Pack and 7 from Danny Way's Hawaiian Dream Pack). Aside from that, you have the option to re play all the challenges and attempt to 'kill' them. To do this you must repeat the challenge and complete it under certain rules. The online mode is also a great way to keep in touch with your inner skater, although the downside is the servers are really laggy and unless your really good at the game, your not going to go far online. If your a dedicated skater like me or if you are a fan of the series, you'll complete the game within about 10 hours minimum and it will continue to be a game you play and play just when your bored. If however you arnt very fond of the game and find it hard, your not going to find much to do within the game and will probably get bored rather fast. In my opinion, the longevity for this game is rated at 8/10, losing marks for repetition.

So, To sum up this short review, I'd recommend this game to anyone who is a skateboarder in real life and want a similar game experience. I also recommend it to any fan of the Skate series and any hardcore gamer as I feel you will be underflipping your gaming experience to the next level and this one will keep you occupied for weeks, you'll even find yourself putting the game in and randomly tricking in one spot for about 30 minutes because its that satisfactory. However, anyone who gets bored of games easily and prefers more faster paced, more structured games, this one isn't for you, unless you enjoy rolling around a city grinding your way across rails and 'owning n00bs' at death races. Overall, I would rate Skate 3:

9/10
