A Gem in a Forest

User Rating: 8.5 | Shadow of Memories PSP
Back when this game was on the PS2, I wasn't totally sure if I wanted to play it or not, I had never played a Konami, so I decided to give it a try. Ended up loving it and play it over multiple times...
Even back than the graphics were OK the sound was good, the score was good at the time, story was decent, all in all an OK game, most people didn't notice this gem till it would have been considered RARE....

Now, they made a remake of this for the PSP, which is all about this review, the PSP is just a port, some things have changed like what certain things are called, like the Digi Pad is not called the Z-Pad and so on...The characters voices are a tad different for some of them like Eike, I prefer the original voices though.

The Game's Story

The story is mainly about how you [Eike] has to go through his daily life and travel through time to make sure he doesn't die, simple right?
Wrong!
You will almost always face death around every corner, you have to use the Z-Pad to travel through time which you get from a certain character in the beginning that plays a big role through-out the game and you have to solve your death and try and stop it in the end.

Score
I have this game a score of 8.5 because I thought it deserved it, I was ify about given it a 9.0 but I picked this rating instead, I felt it fit.....

Graphics
They are OK, even on the PSP they did not change alot, you still look like you are walking on stilts as Eike.

Music
Was pretty decent, errie at some parts, add the tense feeling to the game at some points.

Game-Play
Some people like it, and some people don't, I like that the options are easy to get a hold of but stuff like the MAP are sometimes hard to navigate along with actually knowing what you are supposed to be doing or where to find a certain item, even if you check the Journal.

All in all it was a good game, a gem for sure. Everyone should be able to play it, I can't say how many hours it has taken me to beat every story's ending but I put down that I have played this for 20-40 hours, this was including the PSP version which I have not totally finished and the PS2 version.

Sorry for any spelling mistakes
