Great game but probably only a rental or download to most people.

User Rating: 8.3 | Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi GEN
Shadow Dancer is basiclly your typical toned down Shinobi game unlike Shinobi, Shadow Dancer is fighting in good ol New York. The game is great don't get me wrong but its just to short with only six levels all easily beat in less than 3 min. you can beat it in half hour. The reason I have a high "value" for this game is because when I owned this it was one of the only games I had on Sega.
The game side scrolling levels are a lot like Shinobi's one end of the level to the other but unlike Shinobi you die in one hit (if you die in one hit on Shinobi its because I only owned Shinobi 3 and you can take multiple hits in that so don't get mad) yes one hit, the enemies aren't that difficult they aren't as iritating as Shinobi even if they do die in one hit in Shinobi. No not as difficult because once you save a helpless woman one in every level the enemies drop like flies because your shrunkins turn into energy blasts although if you die you can't get it back. Then there's the special attack you can only use it once but its good what happens is he summons fireballs tornados or a firewall to wipe out every enemy on the screen handy but you only can use it once.
The enmies are mostly ninjas working the big head badguy like your typical Ninja old-school sidescroller. Each ninja can take up to one or two hits or even three on the last level spoiler haha, anyway each ninja attacks you differently depending on their color red ones jump attack blue and yellow ones close attack and there are others I'd tell you about their colors and their attacks but my review would be way to long (its not like its getting any shorter).
The bosses are all easy I mean really since all their main attack point is always glowing want to paint a bullseye on it. As for the graphics there not bad not as good as Shinobi's but like I said its a toned down version of Shinobi and the soundtrack suits it I guess I don't like at times but thats just me but all in all I enjoyed it for the most part, better in the arcade I hear.
