Well I am a fan of the Timesplitters series. This is my Next-Gen replacement. Fast paced, funny, exiting, awesome!

I would like to reiterate that I am a HUGE fan of the 'Timesplitters' series. Look it up if you have never heard of it, then play it! Let's get one thing out of the way. Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter's graphics are very good, not great, but certainly not bad. Anyway, this game is pure, unadulterated, adrenaline pumping action. That may sound silly but that is what it is. The gun-play is the best I've ever experienced. (I turned off the auto-aim and that makes it much better) The enemies are varied and interesting and each one requires a different strategy. There are varied environments to keep things fresh and just when you start getting comfortable and think yo might be approaching monotony, you get a new enemy-type or location or weapon or whatever it may be to keep you playing and needing that 5 extra minutes. The game is also extremely fast paced! I mean, it's really crazy! It somehow allows the player to remain in control of the situation even when you have 17 enemies of 9 varieties on screen. The flow as you jump out of the way of a charging enemy and shoot a rocket at it, followed by swapping to a shotgun and blowing another enemy to pieces just feels so right. One last thing worth mentioning is that this game is funny. It has a sense of humor rarely attempted in a game and extremely seldom done this well. There is so much more that I could say about 'Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter' but I would't want to ruin all the surprises. Now go out and buy this masterpiece!
