A blast from the past - truly brilliant football game.

After all the hype this game received and after all the delays and a final slip-up on the 19th Dec caused the game to be delayed till the 21st Dec. But the wait has certainly been rewarded with the best football game in years. Even though it is just a re-make of the original Amiga version, it is spectacular in every way.

It runs so smoothly and is so fast paced, with sliding tackles, diving headers, goal keeping acrobatics and curling shots, this game keeps you busy through out. With many options including tournaments, leagues, friendlies, custom cups/leagues, and even customizing your own team. All this and Xbox Live compatibility with Ranked and Player matches, makes this a fantastic buy for only 800 MS points.

The game takes a bit of time to get used to but old bad hands at the Amiga version will find there feet in know time. Control wise all you use is the d-pad or analogue stick for player movement and 'after touch' (controlling the ball after it has been kicked), and the A button for passing, shooting and slide tackling. The one button system is fantastic like it was on the Amiga and is a Smooth as you would like it. There is a slight problem with lag online and people tending to quit matches if they are losing due to there being no penalty for quiting early.

The achievements are gain able with a decent bit of play and are not too difficult, but achievements or not this game will keep you playing for weeks. Codemasters have really pulled out all the stopped for this game even though it was delayed for a tremendous length of time it was certainly worth waiting for!

Much deserving its 9/10 - King of Football Games returns!
