Long live the lizard boy known as Scaler!
The story is about a wise cracking 12-year old boy named Bobby "Scaler" Jenkins who was looking around in his next door neighbor's basement but was soon knocked out then interogated by a group of people in which he discovers are really lizard like monsters from another world that are collecting lizard eggs from Bobby's world to take back to their world so they can mutate them into a mutant lizard army so they could take over the universe but when Bobby wouldn't talk , they zapped him with a weird lizard energy beam that transformed him into a blue lizard that he now goes under the name of Scaler as he escapes into a weird portal that appears into the bad guys world where he must use his new lizard like powers like camouflaging , tongue lashing and climbing walls to defeat his enemies so he can return to his home world or be stuck as a lizard for the rest of his life.
Aside from Scaler exploring this strange world in his new form , once in a while when he goes to a new area he can take on the power of shapeshifting into one of 5 different creatures which all have different powers from each other to help him on his adventure but only in certain like taking on the form of a Doozum allows him to fly like a bird while in the form of a Swoom can let him swim understand but remember that you must complete the task of finding those monsters then beating them in a fight to collect their energy to allow you to change.
The only main weapons that the young lizard boy has to fight are his razor shape claws and his super fast tongue action to take down his foes but if you collect the tiny balls of orange stuff called klokkies that floats around the levels you can use them by feeding them to your new friend Leon's pet bird creature that will give you new powers like making your attacks stronger or add a extra static bomb bar to allow you to use more of your electric attack after you fill it from sliding on vines.
A good fact to let everyone know that there are these items called Crystal Gems which there are 10 in all the levels except for boss fights that if you can collect all 100 to get a special surprise but I'm not going to tell so if you have to find that out on your own by either renting or buying this game.
