A solid foundation for all weapon related fighting games.

I played this game a few times and I noticed the street fighter like style of gameplay that this game had. What made it so good is that it had weapons as well. This was one of the first games i believe that used weapons as much as this game did. Before there was Soul Calibur, there was this game. I liked that Referee for some reason. It was the first time I saw the referee in any fighting game until I played my first wrestling game. The characters are indeed unique, as are their moves that they could do. However, I didnt catch much of a storyline with any of them though, but I didnt really care about the storyline that much, all I played this game for was some quick weapon fighting action. Its pretty faced paced like street fighter and the graphics are pretty good for the snes. The sound is not the best though, and the announcer can be barely understood, but I can look past that if you can. Overall, a decent fighting game that im sure the fighting games after this one, especially the ones with weapons, got alot of ideas from. Hopefully the remake of this game for the later systems will make this game even better.
