This isn't saints row
Than you have this crap.. Wtf is this? If i wanted to play tron i would buy a sega genesis. This game is like every stupid neon glowing retro game ever made put together into one retarded ass package. You run 500mph, you jump from building to building, you shoot laser beams..wow.. I played for about 20 minutes and i am just jumping from rooftop to rooftop collecting "cpu cache cells" which are blue glowing orbs and i could not believe how unbelievably bored i was.
The fact that you are in a simulation absolutely destroys the game. What was cool about saints row is that you were in real life.. and the things you did had that grounded sense of cause/effect. Now nothing feels cool anymore, just knowing you are in a simulation totally disconnects the humor of the lazy streetcorner bum, the street hookers, the straightedge couple in the car on the way to visit their relatives, the police patrolling the streets.. And all of the slapstick jokes the passing pedestrians say just become so much less funny because you know none of its real. (of course no video game is real but at least in the originals you can pretend it is real life) Now everything loses its fun because all the pedestrians have this cpu simulation pixelation effect, not even shooting at civilians gives you that feeling of being bad/rebellious because they fade in and out of pixels reminding you they are fake.. So it just constantly reminds you nothings real and its just like, whats the fun in that? And whats the point of all the cool cars if you can run 1000x faster than them? And you don't even have to steal cars anymore you just press up on the d-pad and your car of choice just appears with you in it because its a "hack". And you no longer buy real estates you "hack" them to become your own with one of those stupid door lock keycode things that all games have these days
This should have just been a mode you can unlock in saints row 3 for free by going pressing start, going to your cell phone, scrolling down to cheats, and clicking RETRO MODE... But DEFINATELY NOT its own $60 game. All it is is saints row 3, its the same city, same cars, same user interface.. IT ACTUALLY IS SAINTS ROW 3.. This game is nothing more than a mod that makes saints row 3 even worse than it already was.
What a waste of potential, such a great video game engine however itself, great graphics, smooth performance, great physics, incredible vehicle/aircraft mechanic, incredible player animations. What i much rather want to see is a reboot of saints row 1 or 2 using this gorgeously updated engine.. This tron/infamous/crackdown/prototype crap really insults the saints row name
However its not a TERRIBLE game, its just certainly not saints row. I think it would have been much better had it not been called "saints row" because that just gives the whole series a bad name. They should have named it like superaction-man or something so i would know not to buy it
