A great game that would best suit fans of the series or hardcore strategy gamers.
The idea of the game is that you take control of one of many warlords during the late Han period of China, warlords such as Cao Cao, Liu Bei and several others. They each have set of officers and cites, with resources and soldiers helping their way to power. As you conquer more cites, you will start to be given promotions from the emperor, who himself would be under the control of a certain warlord who controls the city he is in.
Battles are now put into the campaign map and food and gold are greatly needed to keep armies going, officers have 5 different stats ranging between 1 and 100, they are LDR (how they handle situations), WAR (what makes them good in battle), POL (how well they do in politics and development), INT (what makes them good strategists and prevents them from being fooled into a trap) and CHR (how well they do in recruitment and diplomacy).
Despite a lot of menu shuffling and micro-management, Koie have made a capable game that, despite has a large learning curve, makes it an interesting game.
