A teaching tool disguised as a game. You won't learn sheet music, but you'll rip chords off the guitar nevertheless!

I have picked up a number of "guitar" games, over the years, but none of them ever gave the hope of actually *learning* the guitar.

Rocksmith fixes that, in spades. I have a new guitar, the game, and an XBox and that's all I needed to get started. I've played for about 20 hours and I'm excellent at single-note and learning chords on top of that. The songs I play are recognizable and fun and I'm memorizing them without even knowing it's happening.

You can't get the whole guitar learning experience from Rocksmith by itself but, with a bit of help from youtube examples, you can get what you need to be familiar with the guitar. Being familiar with the guitar means you will be able to identify where on the neck your hands should be to properly handle incoming notes as well as be able to pluck/strum the proper strings without having to look at your hands to do so.

All in all, a fun game and worth the price!
