This was THE game that no other was like at the time.....

I remember first hearing about this game through a very close friend of mine who got it for Christmas and was insisting that I try it. So he brought it over and it was on CD-ROM (which was very rare at the time) and installed it on my computer while assuring me I was gonna love it. I remember thinking I wouldn't, since I never heard of the freakin game. He fired up a new game and I was completely blown away. The number of diverse weapons, the beautiful graphics, and most of all....the tremendous amount of GORE which a cheat code that enabled even MORE GORE. The game was amazingly fun to play even those the levels (which acted more like giant puzzles) could be extremely fustraighting to finish at times. Honestly, the greatest fun in this game was killing enemies with the large variety of weapons and watching the gore rain down. I was very amazed with how advanced the game was compared to everything else released at the same time ROTT was released and yet I never reallly heard of it, but I guess that's what happened to a lot of games that fell into the shadow of Doom and Doom 2. Though it's a DOS only game (which means you'll need older hardware to run it) it's still worth checking out and if you have the means.
