I fell from my chair when Lara said “It’s Tomb Raidin’ Time!” before raiding all the tombs.

The game is a real treat for the eyes; The open world looks so detailed and beautiful, and the story is a true visual spectacle with impressive cinematic action sequences. The plot is pretty straightforward, with twists you would see coming from miles away. It’s not as engaging as the 2013 game was IMO, but it’s decent.

Besides the main story, there are other activities to do in the open world. There're optional tombs to explore and trinkets to collect, which tell little stories of their own. Hunting animals for resources also return from the previous game. There aren’t any side quests in the standard game, but the DLCs have some good missions like Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch.

The tomb missions are really fun and have some neat puzzles and platforming sequences. Traversing through platforms is fluid and well-balanced. It’s not as merciless as the Pre-2010s Tomb Raider games where even the slightest wrong angle ends up with Lara jumping to her doom.

The combat system is basic but serviceable. There are weapon upgrades and unlockable skills but they never felt compulsory.

All around this is a great addition to the Tomb Raider series. For the price on Steam now it’s very much worth it for a few hours of fun.
