In the start it all makes sense, but it seems that developers lost it right after the beginning.

This game got me thinking "No more, I give up!" quite a few times while I played it. Too bad I didn't give up first time I thought of that.

After reading GameSpot review, I thought it might be a good game, giving the story and atmosphere are awesome. And they really are. On the other hand, graphics and sounds are way too sluggish. When you look at 3D renderings used in a game, you can see that every high-school geek who has a basic knowledge about Maya could design 60% of these. And there are a lot of games developed 10 years ago which sound better than this.

But, graphics and sound are not material that build up a good point and click adventure. It's story. Atmosphere. Common sense. If the game does not have all of the three, it's future might not be too bright.

Unfortunately, Rhiannon: The Curse of the Four Branches lacks the last one. I was delighted to see how things work in the beginning. Solving puzzles and exploring pretty large estate where the game takes place was entertaining and I loved it. The fact that you have to read a lot is also a plus. It's not very pleasurable if you're looking for a password for a computer log in and you find it under the desk. But if you find it in a 20 page diary of a 15-old girl - that's the deal!

So you're all hyped and thrilled until you get to a shed where you have to unlock the lock. There's a 4-digit code you have to enter. Where will you find it? Then you remember that there's a music player in the house. You go, look at it, and see that a duration of one of the songs is 04:06! Yes, that's it! You go to the shed, enter it and wazzaa! Oh, come on, where's the sense in that!?

There are lot of stuff like this later on in the game, and I didn't have the nerves to even try to finish it. There are a lot of walkthroughs out there I guess, but will I be satisfied if I switch between Firefox and Rhiannon every 30 seconds. Give me some real puzzles to tease my brain, like in Dracula: Origin!

I could easily compare Rhiannon with Outcry. Only the Outcry had a lot better graphics and sounds. Atmospheres and stories are great in both of them. But both of them also lack a common sense of logic.
