When Rez came out on the PS2 I thought it would be a great rail shooter to go with the likes of Raiden and its counterparts, unfortunately I never bought a PS2. Now I have had a chance to play Rez HD on the 360 and it has meet all of the expectations I had for it. When you start the first level you are met with a nice beat topped of by the sounds your avatar makes when locking on and firing at targets, but after breaking through just a few layers in the level the music kicks up into a nice techno tune until you get all the way to the levels boss and the music gets into full swing. Almost all of the music in the game is very cool and has a nice techno beat to it (with the exception of the last level, too slow for me). This is also definitely an unlockable lovers game, lots of extra modes and achievements to get. If i had one complaint it would be that the meat of the game can be finished in about 3 hours or so, but you could spend many more hours trying to perfect your scores and collecting all of the support items. If you are a fan of rail shooters like I am then you will definitely gonna want to check out Rez HD, its well worth the 10 bucks they're charging for it.
