A game bent on challenging players to the verge of game rage incuded suicide but with nice visuals!

I don't usually review any game anywhere predominantly negatively, however this game looks fantastic, has a fantastic little story but requires too much savage attention to every detail of the battle system in order to kill at least four skinny blokes with imitation Colt 45s let alone the hardcore bosses. It is just too hard.

I know you are probably thinking "then why play a role playing game like this you prat!" and I will admit I didn't look to much into the game before buying it, however I enjoyed The Last Remnant and Infinate Undiscovery and I had an inkling that this would play out similar but instead with guns and a mad floating dystopian world (which is more epic than swords in a mad Japanese inspired fantasy world) but even Ruby Weapon in FF7 provided less of a challage than the first boss in this game.

The combat system is very clever and sophisticated and is indeed completely unique but one wrong move could cause you to lose the battle, die and then start the whole stupid dungeon all over again. The combat requires an awful lot of careful thinking such as; which way to go, how to execute your attacks as a team and how to utilise the two types of damage you can dish out.

I won't go into detail about the whole combat system because then I could write near to 3000 words but I will say a bit about the dungeons you will have to traverse. The game world is set out with a bunch of hexagons which you have to unlock with certain peices of various colours and shapes you obtain from enemies after a battle so it offeres a unique perspective on the matter. The dungeons are laid out similar with hexagons which represent rooms of a sort each of which has a battle to be won inside, they get harder as you go though them also and always end with a boss. As I said before, you will have to start again completely if you happen to die (which is incredibly easy).

Overall this is a brilliant game for those with the guts and determination to complete it but it does frustrate the heck out of even me and I like hard games. This is the kind of game that leaves you pretty scared of the next battle which you know is coming so if you do get this game, my advice would be to train up to the point of perfection before traversing even the first dungeon!
