Resident Evil's mechanics may feel dated, but for its time and even now its still an enjoyable experince.

Resident Evil has mixed feelings for me and when I mean mixed I don't mean like good and bad mixed. I almost get the feeling that Capcom wasn't quite sure what kind of a game that they had on there hands. The live action cinema's look like something from a cheesy 50's sci fi movie. The voice acting is some of the most top notch voice acting i've ever heard, seriously I found myself grinning from ear to ear as I listened to how horrible the voice acting was "Wait don't open that door." "You were almost a Jill Sandwich" It was almost as if the cheesy voice acting and the live action cinema's were too ad a sense of humor to the game. It made the game hard to take seriously, though the game did have a creepiness too it.

Resident Evil Places you in the role of Jill or Chris both meet different characters but traverse the same path. Certain things are different. such as its easier to get a shotgun with Jill than it is Chris. The storyline is good and mess up, it sets up the events for sequals very well.

Like I said the game is fun and hard to take seriously, its hard to really like the characters in this game because of its voice acting and comical feel to it. But the latter games more than make up for it. Resident Evil may have not stood the test of time, but its a game that people look upon for setting the bar in gaming.
