The game that started the nightmare.
Story
The team that consists of Chris Redfield,Jill Valentine,Barry Burton,Albert Wesker and Rebecca Chambers enter a mansion where they meet creepy monsters but later find out one of the team lead them here and is a traitor to the team.
Gameplay
Resident Evil is mostly set in a mansion where you have to kill zombies but will later come across more feared enemies like DevilDogs,Spiders and probably most dangerous Hunters. The game has 2 playable characters Chris and Jill and both characters have difference in team members and inventory space.
It is mainly focused around shooting zombies and such but there is backtracking for certain objects and puzzles as well to keep you intrested. You will come across certain guns as well like Handgun,Shotgun and Grenade Launcher. Your heal yourself by finding Herbs and First Aid Sprays and you have to save your game on a Typewriter by finding Injk Ribbons which can be a bit of a pain. Also you can store stuff in a chest and save it for later.
Presentation
To be honest this is where the game really lets itself down with very cheesy and poor voice acting. The character models aren't very impressive but the mansion is a good setting and you will be surprised and shocked to when certain enemies either jump out of windows or follow you back to the mansion.
Lastability
It can be beaten quiet quickly maybe just under an hour and a half but you unlock new weapons or outfits for doing it in a very quick time.#
Overall Opinion
The game does look dated that obvious to see when compared to the remake that was done on the Gamecube but and its not as scary as you may think you will get some jumps but there are better games in the series but for the beginning of a franchise not a bad start.
