Resident Evil is a vast improvement of the original, and there are plenty of reasons to relive the horror.
Gameplay is just plain fun. New puzzles and super zombies make the game feel less of a copy, and more like a whole new experience. Furthermore, the addition of defensive moves is handy and often a lifesaver.
Graphics are incredible. Many games don't look nearly as nice as this. Everything from the backgrounds, characters, and cut scenes are eye candy.
Sound is terrific. The noises heard from creatures and music will keep players in suspense. However, It may disappoint some fans that the fantastically bad voice acting of the original doesn't return in the remake.
Value is good. The game is still completely two different adventures with each character's journey lasting 8-15 hours. And as always the extra costumes are a fun reason to replay the game.
Overall, Resident Evil is a vast improvement, and even if you played the original, there are plenty of differences that make it worth reliving the horror.
